To start craft ideas for adults, you will need to prepare some supplies like a long piece of MDF wood, trims, power grab, wood glue, L brackets, filling/ putty, sandpaper, wood paint, circles and pole to hang curtain. Measure your window and decide what the measurement for the cornice. Prepare the MDF wood and cut based on your measurement. You can choose MDF wood with height about 5” to 12”.
Building the Cornice
You will need to cut the board in 45 degrees which is more difficult than in normal position. Do not cut it in lay flat position but instead you must cut it in standing position. After you cut the wood board, glue trims at the bottom. Use power grab to help to glue them together. You can add scrolly things to the base and apply two coats of paint. You may try to use Swiss coffee paint for the cornice. Cut another board with width of 4” to give the valance enough depth. Attach them with the board using the L brackets. You have to put them together in standing position or else you will not have the correct angle position. And then fill in the gaps in between molding with filling or putty. Wait until the putty dry and you can sand it down and add one coat of paint to finish your craft ideas for adults.
Installation and Finishing
After the paint is dry, attach two wooden circles on the inside of the board on each sides and then place long pole between them so you could add curtain. Attach L brackets to the wall to help attach the wood cornice. Now you can attach the cornice to the wall with the L brackets. Your craft ideas for adults are done and you can enjoy it.
