Having your kids in their own bedroom will encourage them to be independent and able to sleep on their own. This will reduce dependence with their parent and help to have responsibility with the room. However, if they sleep alone, they need to be accompanied. You can do this by give them bedtime buddy so they do not feel alone on their bed. You can choose to give them dolls like teddy bear or Barbie with them. But if you are looking for different buddy for kids, you can make bedtime time buddy by your own. This crafts for toddlers project will involve building a life-sized figure using sheets and cotton.

Materials

To make this crafts for toddlers project, your will need to provide Roll of drawing paper, Old sheet, Pen or marker, Sewing machine or needle and thread, Scissors, Cotton batting and Fabric paint. Make sure you have large size of paper and sheets (you might need at least two bed sheets) and plenty of cotton batting. You may also provide your kids’ old cloth and pants the bedtime buddy.

Directions

Prepare a large piece of drawing paper and tell your child to lie down on it. Trace around his body. Cut out the outline. It will be used as a pattern to cut two body outlines out of an old sheet. Provide enough space from the outline so the figure will have depth. Use the pattern to the old sheet so you have two body outlines for the front and the back. Sew the front and back sheet together around the edges. Remember to put the right sides in because later you will turn the right sides out to cover the sewing. Leave the edges unsewn a bit so you have enough holes to turn the right sides out stuff the cotton. Done with the stitching, turn the right sides out and then stuff it with cotton batting through the unsewn hole. You can now sew the hole closed and the crafts for toddlers project is almost done.

Finishing

You can decorate with fabric paint and draw eye, mouth and nose. Put the dress on using your child’s clothes. Use your imagination and be creative by adding hairs using wool treads or draw it shoes. This bedtime buddy will be your kid’s best friend and playmate especially when they are alone on the bed. This crafts for toddlers project is easy and you should try it.
